Extending a Golden Triangle Tour with Jawai

Delhi, Agra and Jaipur are well known. Here is how to add a wildlife leg in southern Rajasthan.

The Golden Triangle covers history. Adding Jawai gives you the other side of Rajasthan: open hills, villages and wild leopards.

How to connect them

From Jaipur, take a long drive, or take a train and then a taxi, or fly onward to Udaipur and drive to Bera. See Jaipur to Jawai for the practical details.

A 9-day extension

  • Days 1–6: Delhi, Agra, Jaipur.
  • Day 7: travel to Udaipur.
  • Days 8–9: Jawai with two drives.
  • Day 10: fly out from Udaipur or Jodhpur.

Why it works

The pace slows right down after the cities, and you get the wildlife encounter many Golden Triangle trips lack. Add Ranakpur on the way for a heritage touch.

Frequently asked questions

Is Jawai too far from Jaipur for a short trip?

Roughly 450 km, so allow a full travel day or fly via Udaipur. It suits tours of eight days or more.

Do I need to book safaris in advance?

Yes, especially in winter.

Is Jawai suitable for first-time India travellers?

Yes. Private jeeps, a calm pace and English-speaking staff make it an easy introduction to wildlife.
