Booking a Jawai safari is easy once you know the order of things. Here is the process most guests follow, from first idea to the morning of the drive.

1. Choose your dates and how many drives

Pick the nights you will stay in Bera and decide how many drives you want. Three or four drives over two days give a fair chance of good sightings. Winter weekends and holidays fill first, so aim to book two to three weeks ahead, and earlier for New Year.

Not sure? Our guide to how many safaris to plan helps.

2. Decide on the type of drive

  • A standard private jeep drive of about three hours, morning or evening.
  • A photography drive with a smaller group and a slower pace.
  • A longer half-day or full-day expedition.
  • A village or wetland drive for birds and culture.

3. Send a request and confirm the details

Use the safari request form or message us on WhatsApp. Tell us your dates, group size, children’s ages and any special interest. We reply personally with availability and the final rate. No payment is taken online.

Before you agree, check what is included: duration, vehicle, tracker, pickup and any fees.

4. Prepare for the day

Pack neutral clothes, layers for cold mornings, a hat and binoculars. See what to pack. Keep your photo ID handy and be ready at the agreed time. Drives start around first light and about 4:00 PM, depending on the season.
